These sportscasters have taken full semester courses taught by STAA University's Jon Chelesnik:
STAA University has been a good experience for me because the lessons provided a simple, step-by-step way to learn. The group discussions and critiques were informative and eye-opening.
I was considering grad school. With STAA I felt I could gain a strong sports broadcast foundation in working with [Jon Chelesnik] on a weekly basis. I came away from our sessions with a very strong foundation to build upon. STAA gave me a working knowledge and a preparation for what I would face with my different sports broadcasting jobs.

Your STAAU instructor is former ESPN Radio Network host Jon Chelesnik. Jon brings a truly unique set of credentials to the table that few sports broadcasting instructors across the country can match.
Jon has lived sportscasting, taught sportscasting and speaks daily to sports broadcasting employers about what they are looking for when hiring talent. Everything he has learned over more than 25 years, he shares with you in STAA University.
Jon is someone who has been where you want to go, he has experience teaching aspiring sportscasters like you how to get there, and has been helping sportscasters gain employment since 2006. Jon knows the employers for whom you want to work and will show you what you need to do to grab their attention.
Since starting STAA in 2006, I have met dozens of aspiring sportscasters who have come through broadcasting schools and mentorship programs.
Precious few of them ever went on to work on air in sports broadcasting. They are left with debt and regret.
Where the trade schools and mentorship programs come up short is in providing instruction from people who have excelled in sports broadcasting, who have worked in more than one genre of sportscasting, and who have experience teaching sports broadcasting. The demos that these graduates take into the job market are sorely lacking the quality, content and composition that sports broadcasting employers need to hear.
STAAU tackles every last one of these short-comings. Our program is both better, and more affordable.

The 2016 semester of STAAU begins August 25th and runs through November 3rd.
Each of the 11 weeks of the course starts with an instructional video that you can watch at your convenience and at your pace.
For homework each week, you will practice and record a specific sports broadcasting skill. Repeat the assignments as many times as you wish – the more the better. These assignments will ultimately comprise the demo you take into the job market at the end of the semester.
Each of the 11 weeks ends with a live, interactive, 90-minute videoconference where we answer questions, review homework assignments, and exchange ideas.
